Stewart Cink won British Open in Playoff. But fifty-nine-year-old, American Champions Tour golfer Tom Watson winning the British Open would have been the story that was splashed on pages of a screenplay.
Tom Watson was one the men who really most had hoped would be holding the Claret Jug for the sixth time in his career.
Stewart Cink was one of the nicest guys on tour. Cink claimed his first major championship at Turnberry. He defeated Watson in a four-hole playoff with clutch putting and solid iron play.
